ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR GAZETTED OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION
PORT BLAIR

       A meeting of the Gazetted Officers working in various departments under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration was held at Port Blair today (12.12.2015).  The participants of the meeting expressed their views on forming a service organization of the Gazetted Officers.  After detailed discussion, an organization in the name and style “Andaman and Nicobar Gazetted Officers’ Association” was formed to safeguard and promote the interests of Gazetted Officers working under the A & N Administration.   An adhoc Committee was elected in the meeting with Shri Nasib Khan, Smt P. Usha Kumar, Shri D. Ayyappan and Shri Ramesh Kumar as President, Vice President, General Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively. Shri M.N. Saha has been elected as the Treasurer of the Association besides 12 members to the Executive Committee.  

          Earlier, Shri A. Nelson Koildoss, All India Finance Secretary of the P & T Accounts & Finance Officers’ Association, who was the Special Guest in the meeting, while addressing the gathering explained in brief the importance of organizing Gazetted Officers working under the Administration.  He explained the functioning of the All India P&T Accounts Officers’ Association and the issues/demands taken up by the Association.   He also touched up the demands of the Gazetted Officers on which memorandum was submitted to the 7th Central Pay Commission by the Confederation of Central Govt. Gazetted Officers’ Association. 

           Addressing the meeting, Shri T.S. Sreekumar, General Secretary of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association dealt with various aspects of the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission and assured full support of his Association to the newly formed Andaman and Nicobar Gazetted Officers’ Association. 
 
          Shri Ramesh Kumar and Shri D. Ayyappan made introductory remarks at the beginning of the meeting.  The meeting decided to submit a Memorandum to the Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India incorporating various demands/issues of gazetted officers working in various departments under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration which have not been favorably considered by the 7th Central Pay Commission.    

          Shri Nasib Khan presided over the meeting.
